CLIC Hosts Marketing Workshop

More than 75 library staff attended CLIC's annual professional development event, "Make Your Marketing More Effective," presented by marketing guru, Kathy Dempsey.  During the morning session, Kathy outlined the basics of library marketing, and participants met in small groups to apply the five steps toward a marketing plan to local library projects. In the afternoon, Kathy covered merchandising and social media tools for marketing library services.

CLIC Board President Ruth McGuire kicked off CLIC's Year of Marketing by announcing her newly-appointed Marketing Task Force.  Members of the Task Force include: Dixie Ohlander, April Youngblood, Megan Johnson-Saylor, Louann Terveer, Jessica Moore, Amy Mars, and Julie Kimlinger.  McGuire also asked participants to write their "CLIC success stories" on 3x5 cards, which will be used by the CLIC Value subcommittee of the Board later this month.
